In case you missed it, my new album Cistern is out now. As part of the Cistern project, I have also been working on a long form video for the entire record comprised of eight separate videos that tie together seamlessly, and are edited into one epic journey for the title-track "Cistern."
I filmed each video in remote landscapes around the globe: I was buried (twice), submerged in water (several times with rocks tied to my waist to keep me under), sunburned, and frozen, all while wearing a tuxedo.
"Automatism" is the first song on the album, and the video is the beginning of the journey. It was shot in Coorong National Park in South Australia. I was accompanied by the director and co-producer for the entire series, Jim Batt, and extremely helpful assistant Evan Lorden.
The video for "Cistern" will be screening on Times Square's electronic billboards for the entire month of August, as part of Times Square Arts' Midnight Moment. You can read all about that in my previous blog here.
